Privacy policy
Plain English, for a small play café. Last updated 8 September 2026.
Who we are
Little Adventure Town Ltd (company number 17122545) trades as Little Adventure Town. We run an indoor adventure play café at 50-52 Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, DL14 7EQ.
For this website and for bookings made through it, we are the data controller. That means we decide why information is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
Questions about this policy, or about your information: email info@littleadventuretown.com, use the form on the contact page, or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram.
What we collect, and why
We only ask for what we need to run the town and to reply to you.
- Website enquiry forms (contact and party). Name, email, an optional phone number, and the message you write. Party enquiries also ask for the birthday child’s age, a preferred date, and a rough number of children. We use this to answer you and to see whether a party date works. Legal basis: legitimate interests, or taking steps at your request before a booking.
- Play session bookings are taken by Bookwhen. Payment is taken by Stripe. Their systems collect the details needed to book a sitting and to take payment. We see booking information so we can run the session, look after the rooms, and help if something goes wrong. Legal basis: contract.
- Party bookings use the same booking and payment companies once a date is agreed. Party enquiries on this site are not a booking on their own.
- SEN and visit adjustments. If you tell us something that helps a visit go well (for example a quieter sitting, or a health or sensory need), we only keep what we need to make that visit work. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not share it for marketing. Where that includes health information, it is special category data. Legal basis: explicit consent, because you chose to tell us so we can help.
- Messages you send us by email, Facebook or Instagram. We read them to reply. Those apps have their own privacy policies as well.
- Photographs and videos we take during sittings, if we share them on Facebook or Instagram. See the children section below. Legal basis: legitimate interests, with an opt-out on arrival.
- Website analytics and ads. If you agree to optional cookies, Google Analytics records how this site is used (pages viewed, roughly how you arrived). The Meta Pixel helps us measure Facebook and Instagram ads. These can include an online identifier and approximate location. Legal basis: consent. You can say no, and you can change your mind.
We do not run a newsletter sign-up on this website. We do not sell your information.
Who else sees it
A few companies help us run the site and the bookings. They only get what they need to do that job.
- Netlify hosts the website and processes the enquiry forms so the message reaches us.
- Bookwhen runs the booking calendar. See their privacy notice on their website.
- Stripe takes card payments through Bookwhen. We never see your full card number. This website does not collect card details.
- Google if you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics runs on Google’s systems.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) if you choose to message us there, if we post a photograph or video that includes a visit, or if you accept advertising cookies for the Meta Pixel.
Some of those companies are based outside the UK. Where that happens, they should use a lawful way to protect the information, such as the UK’s approved contracts. If we have to share something because the law says so (for example a genuine incident, or a request we must follow), we will.
Cookies
Some cookies keep the site working. Optional cookies from Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel help us understand visits and measure our ads. Those only run if you agree. The full picture, including Bookwhen, Stripe and the map, is in our cookie policy.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages: until we have dealt with them, then we delete them. We do not keep form submissions as a mailing list.
Booking and payment records: as long as we need them to run the business, to meet tax and accounting rules, and to handle genuine queries or incidents. After that we delete them.
Adjustment notes for a visit: for that booking, and only as long as we still need them for that purpose.
Analytics and ad measurement: for as long as those cookies last (Google Analytics cookies are typically up to two years, Meta Pixel cookies around 90 days), or until you ask us to stop. Google and Meta also keep their own copies under their policies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. You can object to processing that is based on legitimate interests. Where we are relying on consent, you can withdraw it. That will not change anything we already did while we had it.
To do any of that, email info@littleadventuretown.com or use the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is for adults booking for children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through the website. If a party enquiry includes a child’s age, that comes from the adult who filled in the form.
Photos on this website are of the rooms. They are not photos of visiting families.
We sometimes take photographs and videos during sittings for our Facebook and Instagram pages, so people can see what the town is like. Other visiting children may appear in the background. If you would rather your child was not included, tell a member of the team when you arrive and we will keep them out of it. If a photo is already up and you want it taken down, email info@littleadventuretown.com or use the contact form and we will sort it. Legal basis: legitimate interests, and you can object at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. The current version is the one on this website.
